The World Unites to Protect the Family

COMMUNITY MEETINGS

In preparation for the Doha International Conference for the Family concerned citizens rallied to the call and organized community and neighborhood meetings all over the world. Hundreds of individual citizens from 144 cities in 34 different countries registered with the Organizing Committee to hold a Save the Family Community Meeting. Many expressed heart-felt gratitude for a means to be able to help protect the family. They expressed concern that many good people in their communities care deeply for their families and feel somewhat helpless as to what can be done to protect them. These meetings opened the door for these citizens to become more aware and to discuss appropriate ways to help in their communities and nations.

Organizers and attendees were encouraged to:

• Organize and conduct their meeting in a manner that represented their concerns and beliefs regarding the family.

• Create a statement of belief regarding their concerns and desires for the family.

• Stay informed about what is happening in their city, state, and country regarding family values and issues.

• Express their views regarding these issues to their elected officials and their local media.

• Talk to others about these issues and urge their support.

• Strengthen their own marriage and family relationships. Talk about marriage and family values with their children.
